Bhubaneswar: 15th Devdasi National Dance Festival, organised by Devdasi Nrutya Mandir, will be held at Dr K M Munshi Auditorium of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Unit-III, Bhubaneswar from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on December 30.
The morning session will be inaugurated by Padmashree awardee Deviprasanna Pattanayak. The morning session will be set aside to child artistes. Child Odissi, Bharat Natyam and Kuchipudi dancers from Kolkata, Vijayanagar, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, New Delhi and Raipur besides different parts of Odisha will perform.
The best among them will be felicitated with ‘Prativa Samman’ in the evening session.
Devdasi Rashtriya Samman will be presented in the evening session. This year, the recipients are Odissi Guru Niranjan Rout, a noted Kuchipudi dancer from Hyderabad Dr Vanaja Uday, eminent performer of Simhanandini style of Kuchipudi dance from Hyderabad Guru Voleti Rangamani, talented Kuchipudi dancer from Vishakhapatnam Sashi Latha Yadav and Guru Sarat Kumar Rath from Puri.
The cultural session will have some scintillating performances by Ananya Deb of Gunjan Dance, Cuttack, Radheshyam Tarei, a Kuchipudi dancer from Berhampur and artistes from Lokanath Sangeet Kala Nikatan, Bhubaneswar.
