5th Shree Rang Samagam to begin from Oct 2

Sambalpur: Odisha’s one of the renowned theatre groups, Sambalpur based Shree Cultural Association will organise 5th Shree Rang Samagam, a three-day long National Theatre Festival, at Aranyak Mancha, Jhaduapara in Sambalpur district, starting October 2, 5:30 pm onwards.

The festival features five plays- two Odia plays and one each of Sambalpuri, Hindi and Bengali languages. The inaugural play will be an Odia play BOTAL BHUTA and Bhubaneswar based theatre group Expressions will stage this.

October 3 will have two plays. The first play to be staged by Mancha Nayaka is DIN, a Sambalpuri language play. The second play is KARNA DRAUPADI SANGLAAP, a Bengali language play staged by Kalpana Theatre for Cause, a Kolkata based theatre group.

The two plays to be staged on the concluding evening are SAHAJATRI, an Odia play by Rourkela based theatre group Pratidhwani and JINDEGI SE JUNG, a Hindi play by Arohi Natya Manch, a theatre group from Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
With strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines, the festival is being organised, it was learnt.

Besides, a seminar on ‘The need of theatre training’ will also be organised at 10:30 am on October 3.

The festival is being organised in association with Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
