Film, tele actress Rajeswari Ray Mohapatra passes away

Bhubaneswar: In yet another jolt to Odisha’s entertainment industry, popular tele actress Rajeswari Ray Mohapatra passed away on Wednesday night.

The actress was battling with lungs and brain cancer. She breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a Bhubaneswar based private hospital.

Born in Balasore, the actress had already recovered from the disease. In 2019, she, in a Facebook post, had expressed her will to win over the disease completely. She had also sought the blessings of her fans through the post.

The actress set her foot in the glamour World through anchoring. Then, she went on to act in some television serials and films as well.

While she will be remembered for her power-packed acting in serials like ‘Basundhara’, ‘Sanskar’, ‘Swabhiman’, cine lovers, her fans will remember her for her brilliant acting skill in some Odia films as well.

While she made her debut in ‘Satyameva Jayate’, she also acted in films like ‘Aa Re Sathi Aa’ and ‘Blackmail’.

Notably, noted Odia actor Raimohan Parida, who immortalised several villian roles, died by suicide June 24.
