Bhubaneswar: The 6th edition of Bimohana Kala Samman 2022, organised by Bimohana Creative, will be held at Utkal Rangamanch in Bhubaneswar on September 30.
This year, Bimohana Creative, an Odissi dance institution founded by young and talented Odissi dancer Rashmi Ranjan Barik, will confer Bimohana Kala Samman upon noted Odissi dancer Dr Snehaprava Samantaray. The earlier recipients of this Samman are Guru Smt Aruna Mohanty, Guru Bichitrananda Swain, Guru Ratikanta Mohapatra, Guru Smt Sujata Mohapatra and Guru Dhaneswar Swain.
The cultural evening will have four solo Odissi dance recitals by Rajashree Praharaj, K Jyotirmayee Pattnaik, Minakshi Jena and Pravat Kumar Swain.
With an aim to popularise Odissi dance, Rashmi Ranjan Barik established an institution in 2016 and named it Bimohana Creative.
The institution also imparts training on Odissi music.
The objective behind organising Bimohana Kala Samman is to bring the hidden talents to the fore and provide youngsters a platform.
