TRIDHARA to organise online Odissi dance workshop

Bhubaneswar: TRIDHARA, one of the premiere Odissi dance institutes, is going to organise a 15-day-long summer special Odissi dance workshop starting June 15. Because of lockdown, the classes will be online.
There will be four groups namely Group A, B, C and D for sub-juniors (beginners), juniors, seniors and principal dancers respectively.
The time slot allotted to sub-juniors is from 4pm to 5pm. Similarly, the slots for juniors, seniors and principal dancers are 5pm-6pm, 6pm-7pm and 7pm-8pm respectively.
The dance items for sub-juniors are Mangala Charan (Laksha Sindura), Kharbam Sthulatanu and Uthilu Edebegi (Abhinaya). They have to choose only one from these three items.
Similarly, juniors have to choose one item from Mangala Charan (Lakshminrusingha dhyana), Ganga Tarang, Mahakali Dhyana, Kede Chhanda (Abhinaya), Rageshree Sthayee, Kalabati Pallavi with Sanginire Chahan.
One of these items-Kirabani Pallavi, Ardhanariswara, Durga Tandava and Manaudharan- will be taught to the seniors.
For principal dancers, the items are Mina Nayana and Yahi Madhav (Abhinaya), Sivastaka, Rasamanjari Pallavi, Astasambhu, Navarasa and Kalyan Pallavi and Raga Sloka. Similarly, they will choose one item from them.
Director, TRIDHARA, Guru Gajendra Kumar Panda says he will teach the theoretical aspects of Odissi dance and the tradition associated with it. Special care will be taken for their Angasudha (body perfection)
While informing about the pattern of online class, he says, “Each group will comprise ten participants. They will get participation certificates and audio music of the item they have learnt. They will also get opportunity to perform solo, duet and group in festivals in India and abroad for upto one year (including online programmes).”
