Bhubaneswar: Fans of veteran Odia actor Bijay Mohanty, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital since last Wednesday, are praying for his speedy recovery.
Sasmita, a house wife from Bhubaneswar recalls the days when the actor was the heartthrob. “I still remember his pictures like “Samay Bada Balaban”, “Hakim Babu” and “Jaga Hatare Pagha”. His acting leaves his audience at theatres mesmerized. I pray for his speedy recovery,” she added.
“We have very few actors and actresses in our film industry. While actors of his time like Prashant Nanda, Uttam Mohanty are no more active in the industry, Bijay Mohanty is still going on. I hope he will get well soon and entertain us,” observed a city dweller.
Two weeks ago the actor had returned from Hyderabad where he had undergone treatment for some heart ailments at a private hospital. He was brought in a special ambulance with all facilities of an ICU.
Upon reaching here, he was directly rushed to a hospital for follow up treatment.
Recently he was discharged from the private hospital and was staying at his residence at Rasulgarh Industrial area. During his stay at home, noted theatre personalities like Manoj Pattanayak and Subodh Pattanayak met the actor Tuesday and the trio discussed about theatre and its present situation.
The actor expressed his desire to stage plays.
The very next morning he had to be rushed to the hospital after his health condition deteriorated.
