Bhubaneswar: The 12th edition of Odissi Nrutya Sangeet Samman Utsav 2022-23, organised by Nrutyangana, will be held at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar on June 29.
This year, Nrutyangana, an Odissi dance institution founded by Guru Subash Chandra Swain, will felicitate Guru Sikata Das, who is the head of the department, Odissi Dance, Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre, and Minati Singha, who is presently working as an assistant editor with the Times of India.
The cultural evening will have some scintillating performances including Sridurga (abhinaya), Shiva Panchakshara (abhinaya), Sri Jagannath (abhinaya), Sthayee, tribal and folk dances. Another attraction of the evening will be some captivating performances of young and talented dancers of Nrutyadhara Foundation, an Odissi dance institution based in Bangalore.
With an aim to popularise Odissi dance, Guru Subash Chandra Swain established an institution in 1990 and named it Nrutyangana.
.The objective behind organising Odissi Nrutya Sangeeta Samman utsav is to bring the hidden talents to the fore and provide the youngsters a platform.
