Bhubaneswar: Sanchari Trust, a Bhubaneswar based Odissi dance institution, is all set to organise it’s first festival ‘Samaksh, Dance and Music Festival’ at Utkal Rangamanch, on the campus of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre in Bhubaneswar on February 28 at 6.30pm.
This year, the institution is going to felicitate Padma Shri recipient noted Odissi dancer Guru Aruna Mohanty with Samaksh Kala Samman 2024. Similarly, Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee Rahul Acharya will be felicitated with Samaksh Kala Yuva Samman 2024.
The festival will have a bouquet of some scintillating duet performances to make the evening a memorable one. Bichitra Behera and Sriradha Paul of Rudraksha Foundation and disciples of Guru Bichitrananda Swain, Shreepunya Mohanty and Sayani Chakraborty of Orissa Dance Academy and disciples of Guru Aruna Mohanty, Aishwarya Singhdeo and Preetisha Mohapatra of Srjan and disciples of Guru Ratikant Mohapatra and Sourav Mohanty and Rohini Samal of Nrutyayan and disciples of Guru Durga Charan Ranbir will perform in the evening.
Young and talented Odissi dancer Rudraprasad founded Sanchari Trust in 2018 with an aim to enrich, preserve and propagate the exquisite art of Odissi dance and provide a platform to young as well as established dancers.
