Bhubaneswar: Get ready for a gripping tale of love, loss, and self-discovery as Laksheswar Productions proudly presents its upcoming first Odia film, ‘Chakranta’.
The movie’s title and star cast were unveiled in a grand ceremony held at a posh hotel in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Directed by seasoned filmmaker Pinu Nayak, who has gifted the industry some best movies like ‘Kemiti Kahibi Mun’, ‘Mo Panata Kanire Tu’, ‘Lagaam’, ‘Chakranta’ boasts an ensemble cast, including Bhoomika Dash, Shubhashish Sharma, Harihar Mahapatra, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Pradyumna Lenka, Dharitri Khandual, Surabhi, Saumya Satapathy, Shubham Padhi, Suman Mahanty, Kusum Tripathy, Promod, Tusar, Umakant, Niranjana Nirua, and Krishna Rani Dash.
The film’s story revolves around a father’s relentless pursuit to make his daughter a respected member of society. However, she gets entangled in a web of deceit and wrongdoings, leaving her father heartbroken.
The movie delves into the complexities of human relationships, societal pressures, and the consequences of one’s actions.
Producer Saurabh Padhi expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “Chakranta is a thought-provoking film that will resonate with audiences of all ages. It’s a complete entertainment package, with a mix of romance, drama, and comedy.”
“The film is not only about how rural girls coming to cities to pursue higher education or in search of work deviate from their aims but also carries a message for them how to keep themselves away from the bad company and fulfill their parents’ dream,” he added.
While Padhi’s wife Punyatoya Mishra is the co-producer of the film, it’s story is by his daughter Disha Padhi.
The film’s music has been composed by Abhijit Majumdar, with lyrics penned by Dr. Nirmal Nayak and Dr. Raghunath Sahu. The cinematography has been handled by Sudarshan Senapati, while the choreography is by Amit Nayak and Kabir.
‘Chakranta’ is slated to be released on the occasion of Raja Festival, and its trailer is expected to generate immense buzz among cinephiles.
