Bhubaneswar: Odia fill industry on Tuesday suffered another blow in the form of passing away of well-known producer Rabi Swain. He was 75.
Sources said, he was suffering from liver cirrhosis and he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
His demise has cast a spell on the film fraternity with colleagues, friends, fans and followers taking to social media platforms to express their grief and pay heartfelt tributes. Some termed the loss as truly irreplaceable.
He carved a niche for himself with a string of commercially successful and critically acclaimed films, including ‘Jor Jaar Mulak Taar’, ‘Ki Heba Sua Poshile’, ‘Udandi Sita’, and ‘Panjuri Bhitare Sari’. His contribution left an indelible mark on Odia cinema.
Beyond silver screen, he was a respected figure in his native Pipili area in Puri district, where he earned a recognition as an educationist by establishing several institutions.
Kalasanskruti expressed deep condolences and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
