‘Agnisnat’, a theatrical tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

Bhubaneswar: The theatre lovers of Bhubaneswar were treated with a beautiful play titled ‘Agnisnat’ at Bhanjakala Mandap on Saturday.

The play, written by Dr Bidhuprava Rath and directed by Somanath Behera, revealed a lesser known story of the independence movement time. Set against the backdrop of India’s struggle for independence, the play highlights the sacrifices made by Odia freedom fighters who joined the Azad Hind Fauj.

The story revolves around the theme of patriotism, courage, and selflessness.The play featured a talented cast, including Rajesh Nayak, Saroj Kumar Panda, Manoj Rath, and Ankita Patra. While the music was composed by Mukunda Sahu, A Suba Rao, and Sanskar Pattanaik, stage was designed by Eju Amin Khan.

The event was organized by the Pruthvipanna Foundation Trust, Brahmapur, and was dedicated to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The play received a standing ovation from the audience, comprising intellectuals, students, and art enthusiasts.

The success of “Agnisnat” underscores the importance of preserving India’s rich cultural heritage and honoring the sacrifices of its freedom fighters.
