Arohana’s theatre festival begins in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The 31st edition of Nikhila Utkala Nataka Mahotsav, organised by Arohana, one of the prominent theatre groups of Odisha, kick started at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

On this occasion, the theatre group felicitated three theatre personalities. While noted theatre personality Brajamohan Mohanty was awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award, theatre director and actor Prashant Kumar Praharaj and Seshasarabya Nanda were awarded with Arohana Samman and Yuva Natya Silpi Samman respectively.

After the felicitation ceremony, gitinatya ‘Ganesha Janma’ was staged by Divyang children of Ashraya- The Shelter Home.

In the second half, an out and out comedy play ‘Gamha Punein Re Mainee Mainee’ was staged by only women artistes of Mahila Yoga Kendra, located at Unit IX of Bhubaneswar.

While the play was written by Piyush Ranjan Parida, it was directed by Satyabrata Panda and produced by Soudamini Pattanayak.

The audience enjoyed both the plays.
