Phulbani: The first edition of Barsha Dance and Music Festival is all set to entertain the art lovers at Gandhi Smruti Bhavan in Phulbani town on Sunday (August 6) from 5pm.
The host institution, Nataraj Kala Mandira, the only Odissi dance institution in the district, is leaving no stone unturned to present a quality programme to the connoisseurs.
Informing about the main objective of the festival, Guru Binod Chandra Sahu said his aim is to provide a platform to budding talents and popularise Odissi dance in every nook and corner of the state.
This year, Odissi dancers from all parts of the state are participating. Each will be provided with a certificate and a trophy, he added.
Nataraj Kala Mandira was established by Guru Sahu in the year 2006 and the institution has now become a popular institution.
The senior and junior dancers of the institution have so far participated in many festivals and events in and outside the state and earned accolades.
Among several activities, the institution has been organising a special programme on the occasion of International Dance Day.
