Bhubaneswar: Expression, a prominent theatre group of Odisha staged ‘Botal Bhuta’ (Bottle Ghost) at the recently concluded 22nd Bharat Rang Mahotsav held at Madhavdev International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati.
Despite language barrier, theatre aficionados had an engrossing viewing experience. What they liked most is the presentation style. They were seen glued to their seats all throughout the play.
Among the audience there were theatre personalities of the ilk of Dulal Roy, Arup Hazarika, Seema Biswas and Gunakar Dev Goswami.
The play, written and directed by Debanand Nayak Soni, gives a clear picture of social evils still found in rural pockets of Odisha and the root causes why they are still making their presence felt.
Notably, the prestigious annual theatre festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav, is organised by the National School of Drama (NSD).
