Bhubaneswar: Continuing its effort to extend a helping hand to theatre, TV and film actors and actresses in distress, Dharitri Socio Cultural Trust Saturday handed over a cheque of Rs 10,000 to Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.

Mrutyunjay has acted in many films and TV serials. The prominent films are ‘Bande Utkal Janani’, ‘Prem Rogi’ and ‘Aa Janhare Lekhiba Na’. Similarly, ‘Pari’, ‘Sahanai’ and ‘Jeevan Sathi’ are some of the TV serials where his acting skills found an outlet and lapped love and appreciation from audience.

If it is not one thing, it is another for this actor. First the pandemic rendered him jobless. And then a wound on his leg forced him to remain confined to four walls.
“After coming to know about Mrutyunjay’s condition, we decided to do something for him. What we did is a little help. But making him feel that he is not alone, we are with him will definitely make a difference,” said Dharitri Khandual, chairperson of DSCT.

Among others, members of DSCT including Amiya Kumar Das, Ramesh Chandra Parida, Rajendra Kumar Rath, Rajat Mishra, Ranjan Sahu, Seema Sahu, Ajay Kumar Sahu, Kanchan Das, Deepak Das and Abhiram Majhi accompanied Dharitri Khandual. They went to his residence at Sudhanidhiswar slum, Unit-IX and enquired about his health condition before handing over the cheque.

Khandual and the members said they will continue to help and support actors and actresses in difficult and do other social activities in the coming days as well.
