Bhubaneswar: Ekamra Sanskruti Sandhya, a programme to be held at Ekamra Haat here in Bhubaneswar city round the year, will be inaugurated on October 2, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Jointly organised by Odia Language, Literature and Culture department, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts department and Odisha Tourism department, the programme’s main objective is to popularise Odisha’s cuisine, tradition, culture, art and craft, dance, music, folk dance etc. among the visitors.
In this regard, a high-level meeting was convened at Sanskruti Bhawan, under the chairmanship of Secretary of Odia Language, Literature and Culture department Suresh Chandra Dalai.
The meeting discussed on how to make the programme a successful one. Responsibilities were distributed between the departments. And they have been asked to make sure that the programme should be held with strict adherence to the government’s Covid-19 guidelines.
The logo of the programme will be inaugurated at a press conference on October 1.
Among others, president of Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Padma Shri awardee Aruna Mohanty, secretary of Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Prabodh Rath, chief executive of GKCM Odissi Research Center Dr Sangeeta Gosain, additional commissioner of BMC Laxmikant Sethi, additional secretary of Odisha Tourism department Rina Mohapatra, additional DCP P. K. Rout, principal of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalay Dr Bijay Kumar Jena, additional director of State Institute for Development of Arts and Crafts (SIDAC) S. K. Mohanty and Prasanna Rath of UNICEF attended the meeting.
Seeking cooperation and coordination between the departments for the success of the programme, state culture department Project coordinator Basudev Malbisoi proposed the vote of thanks.
