Eminent Odia film director Raju Mishra passes away

Bhubaneswar: Eminent Odia film director Raju Mishra is no more. He succumbed to a massive heart attack Monday afternoon at his residence in Jatni, on the outskirts of the capital city. He was 72.
His wife Pratima Mishra informed about his demise.
According to family sources, he had gone to the bank for some works and returned in the afternoon. Returning home exhausted, he sat down on sofa and after a while collapsed.
He was immediately rushed to private hospital in the city where the doctors pronounced him recieved dead.
An alumnus of Pune based Film and Television Institute of India, Mishra was a director, cinematographer, music composer, dialogue and screenplay writer, all rolled into one.
With ‘Ulka’ he made his debut in Ollywood and then the rest is history. For films like ‘Sagar Ganga’, ‘ Jor Jar Mulak Tar’, ‘Asuchhi Mo Kalia Suna’, ‘Pua Moro Kala Thakura’ and ‘Chaka Akhi Sabu Dekhuchhi’, people will remember him for ever.
Notably, Srjan had conferred Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Award 2020 upon Mishra, a recipient of many awards including ‘Jayadev Samman’.
