Bhubaneswar: Ardhendu-starrer Odia film will be re-released in December. Actor Ardhendu made this announcement at a press conference on October 25, expressing his desire to give the film a wider release and reach a larger audience.

When asked why he has decided to re-release his film, the producer-actor said he wants his film should get as many cinema halls as possible and reach a wider cross-section of moviegoers.

Addressing a press conference, he said, “Our film (Game Over) was initially scheduled to hit theaters on October 16 during Durga Puja festival time. However, due to a delay in receiving its censor certificate, the release was postponed to October 18. This last minute change, coupled with limited number of cinema halls, dashed our hope of releasing it in maximum number of theatres.”

Having given his audience his word, Ardhendu decided to go ahead with a one-day screening at a single cinema hall rather than disappoint his fans.

On this special one-day screening, the film’s cast and crew, technicians, film critics, family friends, and a select group of media representatives got an opportunity to watch the movie. The film received an encouraging response.

Keeping the audience’s enthusiasm and emotional connection with the film in mind, Ardhendu announced at the press conference that ‘Game Over’ would return to theatres in December, giving a wider audience another opportunity to watch it on the big screen.

When asked whether the December release would feature any additions, such as new sequences, action scenes or songs, he ruled out any changes. He maintained that the film is a package of complete entertainment and has little room for further improvisation.

The press meet was attended by Ardhendu Sahu, Kuna Tripathy, Mahasweta Ray, Jiban Panda, Bibhas, actress Supriya Nayak, Somesh Mohanty, Akash, and other members associated with the film.
