Bhubaneswar: In a bid to empower women across Odisha and provide them with a platform to express their individuality and talent, a unique beauty pageant titled ‘Gems of Odisha India’ has been launched.

Organised by Shubhradeep Enterprises and presented by Nurturing Nest, the event seeks to break stereotypes and celebrate inclusivity.

The announcement was made at a press conference held recently at a city hotel in Bhubaneswar. Present at the event were Nurturing Nest founder Anita Mandal, Umashankar Das, actor Harihar Dash, film producer Sachikanta Jena, Pranay Jethi, choreographer Abhay Sethi, and Dr. Monalisa, among others.

Breaking conventional boundaries, the pageant will be conducted in three inclusive categories, namely ‘Rani’, for women aged 16 to 40, ‘Maharani’, for women aged above 40 and ‘Shrishakti’, for differently-abled women.

There will be no bar based on age, body type, caste, religion, or disability, making it one of the most inclusive events of its kind in the state.

Registrations for the pageant began in May and will remain open until the end of June. Interested participants can register by paying a nominal fee of ₹999.

All registered candidates will receive online grooming and training by mentors from Odisha and across India, ensuring they are stage-ready.

The grand finale will be held on August 22 and 23 at the scenic Tampara Lake Resorts in Ganjam district. Winners from each category will be awarded cash prizes and additional recognition.

Ollywood actress and Femina Miss India contestant Archita Sahu has been announced as the brand ambassador of the event.

The judging panel and training team will feature well-known personalities such as Harihar Dash, Dr. Sunita Wadhwan, Sandeep Soparkar, and Abhay Sethi, among others.

The organisers have urged women from across the state not to miss this opportunity and to complete their registration before the deadline.
