Bhubaneswar: The air was thick with devotion as vocalists presented devotional songs based on Lord Jagannath on Wednesday, the second evening of ‘Guhari 2025’, a devotional and spiritual music festival organised by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Center in association with the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture at Utkal Rangamancha, Bhubaneswar.
Every year, this much awaited programme is organized on the occasion of Rath Yatra of the holy Trinity.
The vocalists who featured on the second evening were Mahaprasad Kar, Anusuya Nath, Basanta Patra, Srusti Surupa, Alok Kundu, Nisiprabha Pani, Pravat Kumar Patra, Dipti Dash and Dibyaranjan Dash.
The devotional music based on Shree Jagannath performed by them were ‘Bhuja Tale’, ‘Ahe Nilagiri’, ‘Dukha Nasana He’, ‘Ehi Kathare Mo Mana’, ‘Mana Re Hari Bhajana’, ‘Patitapabana Bana’, ‘Radha Shree Pada Braja’, ‘Jai Jagabandhu He Jadu Nandana’, ‘Jay Jay Jagannath’, etc.
They were ably accompanied by Dushmant Kumar Parida on the Tabla, Baibhab Kumar Dash on the Drum, Priti Ranjan Swain on the Flute, Sudhansu Sekhar Jena on the Octopad, Chintamani Mishra on the Keyboard and Sumanta Maharana on the Harmonium.
The evening saw the presence of eminent personalities including Padma Shri awardees Smt. Shyamamani Devi and Dr. Kumkum Mohanty, renowned singer Smt. Geeta Patnaik, eminent scholar Dr. Kirtan Narayan Parhi, and GKCM Odissi Research Centre Administrative Officer Smt. Anuja Tarini Mishra.
The programme was anchored seamlessly by Dr. Mrutunjaya Rath.
