Bhubaneswar: Eminent Odissi dancer Guru Durga Charan Ranbir has been chosen to receive the coveted Padma Shri award.

Born to Sarangadhara Ranbir and Radharani Ranbir at a nondescript village of Kamaguru in Khordha district on March 1, 1951, Guru Ranbir was attracted to Odissi dance even when he was young. But, since his family was a zamindar family, the family members were dead against his wish to be a dancer.

Where there is a will there is a way.
