Bhubaneswar: The 18th edition of International Chausathi Yogini Mahotsav, organised by Nrutya Prativa, a premier Odissi dance institution of the state, is all set to entertain art lovers at Utkal Mandap, Bhubaneswar on December 23, 24 and 25.
This year, eminent actress Tripura Mishra will be felicitated with Lifetime Achievement Award, informed Guru Prativa Panda, the secretary and founder of Nrutya Prativa, at a press conference.
Similarly, Parthasarathi Panigrahi, better known as Baboo Panigrahi, son of Pandit Raghunath Panigrahi, Guru Niranjan Rout and Dr Phani Mohanty will be awarded with Chausathi Yogini Sangeet Samman, Chausathi Yogini Nrutya Prativa Samman and Chausathi Yogini Sahitya Samman respectively, she added.
The three-day-long festival will witness a bouquet of presentations like Odissi dance, Pasumukha dance, Chhau dance, Bonda dance, Sambalpuri dance, Bharatnatyam by reputed artistes and institutions. They apart, Baboo Panigrahi’s vocal recital, Talabadya by Guru Abhiram Nanda and Group and Prahallad Natak by Guru Gajendra Panda his Group will be other attractions of the festival.
From the coming year, the festival will be held at one of the Yogini shrines of the country, informed Dr Rajani Ranjan and Bankim Nayak, president and vice president of Nrutya Prativa respectively.
