Bhubaneswar: The 4th Day of International Odissi Dance Festival organised by Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odishi Research Centre under the aegis of Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar.
The festival showcased varied aspects of Odissi repertoire through the young, legendary, established and senior dancers of repute in one platform who enthralled the audience by their splendid performances.
Morning session dance programme started at 10.00 AM with brilliant performances by Lashya Dance Academy, Cuttack (Group), Itishree Priyadarshini Singh, Bhubaneswar (Solo), Ankita Bakshi, New Delhi (Solo), Meghna Das & Meghamala Ghosal, West Bengal (Duet), Suman Mondal, West Bengal (Solo), Oishanee Bhattacharjee, Kolkata (Solo), Rithika Banerjee & Mokshada Tripathy, Rourkela (Duet), Sneha Douli, Cuttack (Solo), Chandrima Dey, West Bengal (Solo) and Mrudugunjan, Bhubaneswar (Group) giving the art lovers an engrossing viewing experience.
The afternoon session started at 4.00 PM and continued till 6.00 PM. The first item was presented by Srijan Chhanda, Kolkata (Group) followed by Princess Panigrahi & Pratiksha Priya, New Delhi (Duet), Gayatree Sahoo, Cuttack (Solo), Swati Prangya Jena & Monalisa Maharana, Bhubaneswar (Duet), Suryakant Pradhan, Puri (Solo), Roji Swain, Bhubaneswar (Solo), Baijayani Singh, Australia (Solo) and Debadasi, Bhubaneswar (Group).
The evening session started with the solo performances by renowned Odissi dancer Guru Jhelum Paranjape Senior disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra & Guru Pankaj Charan Das followed by Sudha Mokhopadhyay, New Delhi (Solo), Arpita Samal & Mirabala Samantaray, Koraput (Duet), Mani Karnika, Cuttack (Solo), G Nageshwari, Bhubaneswar (Solo), Amulya Rautray & Banti Mandal, Puri (Duet), Priyanka Jena, Cuttack (Solo), Munmun Chakraborty, Cuttack (Solo), Shankhanada Nrutyanusthan, Bhubaneswar (Group).
The fourth evening of the festival was inaugurated by Dr. Snehaprava Samantaray, Eminent Odissi Danseuse, Guru Arun Utsav Das, Eminent Ghoda Nacha Dance Guru, Shri Deba Prasad Dash, Joint Secretary, Odia Language, Literature, Culture and Anuja Tarini Mishra, Administrative Officer, GKCM Odissi Research Centre.
The programme was anchored by Dr. Mrutunjaya Rath.
