Bhubaneswar: The 2nd day of the biggest Odissi ensemble witnessed a beautiful blend of rhythm, movement and music representing the three styles of Odissi.
The morning session featured some good performances by the artistes of Baba Akhandalamani Nabaprativa Sangeeta Sikhya Kendra (Group), Rupa Pal (Solo), Chinmayee Tripathy (Solo), Avipsa Biswal & Sudeepa Rout (Duet), Sonali Mohanty (Solo), Sonam Prusty (Solo), Sumit Kumar Chakraborty & Abhisek Sanyal (Duet), N. Banishree (Solo), Lalitha Chandramoorthy (Solo) and Sanchari Ensemble (Solo).
The afternoon’s session performed artistes were Ramhari Das Odissi Gurukula (Group), Subhendu Kumar Dash & Debasis Mohapatra (Duet), Rupali Panda & Nibedita Singh (Duet), Lucrezia Ottoboni from Italy (Solo), Srutika Behera (Solo) and Biswanath Sangeetalay (Group).The evening’s programme began with Solo Dance by Guru Sharon Lowen (New Delhi), Senior disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra followed by Solo dance by Y Asha Kumari.
Next item was Duet presentation by Dipti Prakash Champati & Sanjana Gouda followed by Solo dance by Bidya Biswajeeta, Lopamudra Nayak. Next presentation was Duet Odissi dance by Liza Nayak & Pujarani Sahoo followed by Solo dance by Koushik Das and Niladri Mohanty.
The last presentation of the evening was group dance by the dancers of Poushali Mukherjee Dance Academy, Kolkata.
On the occasion of 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, delegates/ NRIs witnessed the festival at Rabindra Mandap and enjoyed various styles of Odissi dance.
The dignitaries who graced the function were Shri Santanu Rath, Eminent Literature Scholar; Dr. Bijay Kumar Jena, Principal, Utkal Sangita Mahavidyalaya and Anuja Tarini Mishra, Administrative Officer, Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre.
The programme was anchored by Dr. Mrutunjaya Rath. The festival was live streamed on the GKCM Odissi Research Centre Facebook page and YouTube channel.
