Bhubaneswar: Theatre enthusiasts will have an opportunity to watch ‘Salilaa’, a play of a different taste, at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar at 7.25 pm on February 17.
The play will be staged by Jeevan Rekha Theatre, a reputed Bhubaneswar-based theatre group, and is written and directed by Abhinna Routray, who is best known for unique experimental directorial language.
The play is about an author and her characters of a novel. Though the content is an unusual triangular relationship between a woman and two men, it speaks in depth about a woman’s mind so also that of a man. The group is hopeful that audience while watching the play will find themselves flowing with the story.
The play has four characters like Mayuri, Devi, Chandan and Gopal played by Biyot Projna Tripathy, Mama Samal Parida, Rohan Yadav and Smruti Ranjan Rout respectively. All the actors are brimming with confidence to give audience an engrossing viewing experience.
“Since there are only four characters in the play, it will be a challenge for us to make audience seated all throughout the play. We are pulling all the stops to give justice to our characters. We are not missing our daily rehearsal. If anyone of us is not able to make it for the rehearsal, s/he joins offline. We are confident that we will be able to deliver the best of us. The rest depends on the audience,” says Smruti Ranjan Rout.
Biyot Projna, Mama and Rohan echoed the same.
The play is a ticketed show.
