Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. He was 74.
He had tested positive for COVID-19 in the first week of August and was admitted at MGM Healthcare. He had recovered from the pandemic disease but had since been fighting against post-COVID complications.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Born on June 4, 1946, the singer recorded over 40,000 songs in as many as 16 languages. He made his debut in 1966 and movie was ‘Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna’. He also acted in several films.
Political leaders including PM Narendra Modi, film personalities, fans paid their tribute to the departed soul.
