Mayurbhanj Utsav in Bhubaneswar from Jan 31

Bhubaneswar: The Mayurbhanj Utsav will be celebrated at Utkal Mandap in Bhubaneswar from January 31 to February 2. The event, organized by Mayurbhanj Cultural Council (Mayurbhanj Sanskrutika Sansad), will showcase the art, culture, heritage, architecture, cuisine, and tourism of Mayurbhanj.

The festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The festival will feature cultural programs, including Chhau and Jhumar dances, and performances by renowned Ollywood artistes.

On February 1, a memorial meeting will be held at the Institute of Engineers to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanj Deo.The meeting will be attended by the King and the Queen of Mayurbhanj as esteemed guests. A discussion on Mayurbhanj’s contributions to Odisha’s art, education, literature, culture, architecture, tourism, and cuisine will follow.

The event was announced at a press conference attended by Dr. Arun Kumar Rath, chairman of the festival committee, and other dignitaries, including general secretary of the committee Dr. Rajani Ranjan Biswal, secretary Chinmay Das Pattanayak, industrialist Swarup Ranjan Das, eminent film director Gadadhar Puty, film director Tapas Sargharia, Ollywood actor Sukant Rath and Swaraj Barik.

The festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of Mayurbhanj’s rich cultural heritage.
