Bhubaneswar: A three-day solo art exhibition of Mrs Shibani Nayak ‘Prayas’ inaugurated at Jayadev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on February 1.

The title of the exhibition is quite apt as it is Mrs Nayak’s attempt in the world of art and colours. In fact, it is her second exhibition after the one held at Odisha Modern Art Gallery in 2008.

The exhibition, inaugurated by Bhubaneswar Ekamra MLA Babu Singh and eminent artist Manas Jena, will be open for public viewing till February 3 from 10am to 7pm.

There are a total of 51 artworks of Nayak on display, gaining admiration from the visitors for her use of traditional medium of acrylic on canvas.

Her artworks not merely depict gods, goddesses and tribal lifestyle but also her wave of emotions and thoughts, attracting both seasoned art enthusiasts and newcomers.

A housewife and self-taught artist, Mrs Nayak attributes her artistic journey to the inspiration from Sangeeta Swain.
