Natyadhara: 3 plays to be staged on Feb 7, 8 & 9 in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Under the monthly series of Natyadhara, three Odia plays of different tastes will be presented at Bhanjakala Mandap in Bhubaneswar at 7pm on February 7, 8 and 9.

On February 7, ‘Mu Baha Hebi’ will be staged by Bhawanipatna based theatre group Kalahandi Kalakar Sangha. Written by Prafulla Rath, the play is directed by Pradeep D Majhi, who has also scored the music.

On the second evening, Saran Yuvak Sangha, Rourkela, will stage ‘Dala Behera’. Written by Kalicharan Pattanayak, the play is directed by Pradeep Panda and music scored by Salekhu Marandi.

On the third evening, Bhanja Kishore Pattanayak’ play ‘Manika Jodi’ will be staged by Bhubaneswar based theatre group Swetapadma. The play is directed by Pradeep Biswal and music by Shakti Prasad Mishra.

Coincidentally, the first name of all the three directors is Pradeep.

Under Natyadhara series, every month, four plays are staged in Bhubaneswar -three at Bhanjakala Mandap and 1 at Rabindra Mandap-, providing a platform to theatre organisations to perform in the capital city. The programme is organised by Odia Language, Literature and Culture department, in association with Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi and Odisha Natya Sangha.
