New Barrackpore Drishyantan’s theatre festival ‘Uddyam 2024’ held in Kolkata

Kolkata: New Barrackpore Drishyantan’s annual theatre festival ‘Uddyam’ 2024, Addyonto Nari’, held at West Bengal Natya Academy’s Tripti Mitra Natyagriha on October 20, drew a huge number of theatre lovers.

The one-day-long theatre festival commenced with a theater workshop on ‘Mind and Vocalization on Theatre’, conducted by eminent psychologist and musician Ankita Debnath.

Then all the girls of the team inaugurated this festival by pulling colorful cotton on the white canvas in a colourful arrangement. The festival was inaugurated by Dharitri Mirdha and Anuska Debnath of Bongao Dhulauraniya and Ganrapota Saptak theatre groups respectively

The first play ‘Devi’ produced by Ganrapota Shaptak and directed by Pronay Biswas, was staged at 4pm.

The second play, ‘Streelinga Atoeb’ produced by Bangaon Dhulauraniya and directed by Lopamudra Guha Niyogi, was staged at 5pm.

The concluding play of the evening was ‘Sohag’, produced by New Barrackpore Drishyantan and directed by Shouvick Ghosh. It was staged at 6.30pm.

All the three plays were well upto the expectation, giving an engrossing viewing experience to the theatre lovers who hooked to their seats till the last play of the evening.President Gopal Ghosh, on behalf of the organization, thanked the audience for making the festival a grand success.
