Bhubaneswar: Nrutya Naivedya, a Bhubaneswar based dance institution, will organise four-day-long 5th Nrutya Naivedya Odissi Utsav-2020-21 from September 1. Meanwhile, the institution announced the name of the recipient of 5th Nrutya Naivedya Award. She is noted Odissi dancer Padma Shri awardee Guru Ranjana Gauhar.
Every year the institution awards a senior personality associated with Odissi dance. This year, Padma Shri and SNA awardee Guru Ranjana Gauhar will receive the award. The felicitation ceremony will be held on the inaugural evening. Besides Guru Ranjana Gauhar’s Odissi dance recital, the inaugural evening will have two other performers to mesmerise audience- flutist Srinibas Satpathy and Odissi dancer Sreepunya Mohanty.
The personalities so far honoured with Nrutya Naivedya Award include Guru Aruna Mohanty, Guru Bichitrananda Swain, Guru Ratikanta Mohapatra and Guru Bijay Kumar Barik.
The festival will be streamed live on the institution’s Facebook and YouTube channel.
