Bhubaneswar: Amidst controversies, the new Odia film ‘Paree’ has been released in 20 theatres across Odisha with its premiere show held at Stutee Cineplex in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Many film producers, directors, actors, and film critics watched ‘Paree’ together with the audience.
Produced by Sanjay Mohanty and directed by Tripati Sahu, ‘Paree’ highlights rising cases of sexual abuse against innocent and tender-hearted children. Paree symbolizes an innocent, delicate flower bud, around whom parents nurture countless dreams. Tragically, their dreams are dashed to the ground due to the brutality of sexual predators. In the face of money, power, and politics, the helpless parents are crushed.
But in the end, does Paree receive justice? The film’s narrative unfolds around this deeply sensitive and moving theme.
The dialogues are written by Dr. Rajani Ranjan, while the songs are penned by Pramod Parida and music composed by the Japani Bhai.
Playback singers Antara Chakraborty, Ruku Suna, and Dr. Rohan Biswal have lent their voices. Choreography has been handled by Amit Nayak and S. K. Muralidharan. The lead roles are played by actor Jyoti Ranjan Nayak and actress Anuradha Panigrahi.
Audiences have highly appreciated the chemistry between Jyoti and Anuradha. Along with scripting the story, Sanjay Mohanty has also produced the film, with Chandan Swain and Anil Baliarsingh as co-producers. Dhruvananda Panda (Litu) has served as the director of photography, while Chandrasekhar Mishra has edited the film.
Media planner and Creative Head Pranaya Jethi has been responsible for the film’s publicity and promotion.
The film features performances by Sritam Das, Nilamani Sahu, Pradyumna Lenka, Soumya Adhikari, Guddu, Jagannath Sahu, Naresh Rautray, Niranjan Acharya, Bishal, Papi Santuka, and child artists Dibyangshi and Sneha, among many others.
Many viewers observed that they enjoyed the film very much and at the same time got emotional while watching the film. They said the eponymous character ‘Paree’ does not belong to just one individual, but represents society as a whole.
Considering the heavy turnout on the release day and the overwhelming audience response, the production house has expressed confidence that ‘Paree’ will emerge as a much-loved film among viewers.
