Odisha Natya Sangha’s theatre festival from today

Bhbaneswar: Odisha Natya Sangha is celebrating its 35th foundation day across the state today. On this occasion, the Sangha is organising a four-day long National Theatre Festival at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar from today.

Purbaranga, a theatre group from Gauhati will stage the inaugural play ‘Ratnakar’. It’s an Assamese play, written and directed by Gunakar Deb Goswami. On the second evening, Odisha Natya Sangha will stage an Odia play ‘Punascha Abolakara’, written by Sitesh Tripathy and directed by Darpa Narayan Sethy.

A Bengali play ‘Nakshi Kanthar Math’ will be staged on the third evening. A Kolkata based theatre organisation Naye Natua will stage the play, based on the verse of poet Jasimuddin, dramatised and directed by Goutam Halder.

On the fourth and last evening, Jabalpur based theatre organisation Samagama Ranga Mandal will stage a Hindi play ‘Agarbati’, written by Ashis Pathak and directed by Swati Dubey.
