Bhubaneswar: A woman can understand another woman’s problems better. Maria aunty is no different. Maria aunty has three paying guests- Madhuri, Sumana and Aparupa. How she solves their problems is the pith of the play ‘Paying Guests’, staged under Natyadhara programme at Rabindra Mandap on January 13, 2020.
Nita Goswami was excellent in essaying the character Maria aunty. Priyadarshini Mohanty, Babita Mahalik and Aisharya Barik also did justice to their characters- Madhuri, Sumana and Aparupa respectively. Since the play says about women and their problems, the play is devoid of any male character.
The play is written by Dr Pradeep Bhoumik and directed by Sarat Das.
Rourkela based group ‘Pratidhwani’ staged the play to a packed auditorium.
