Bhubaneswar: Odia music sensation Humane Sagar passed away on Monday evening. He was 36.
According to sources, he was admitted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on Friday afternoon and had since been on advanced life support system. He was suffering from kidney and liver-related ailments.
The news of Sagar’s demise sent a shockwave across the entertainment industry with many terming it as an irreparable loss. At the same time, social media platforms are being flooded with condolences messages.
Music came naturally to Sagar. Born on November 25, 1990 in Titilagarh, Bolangir, he grew up in a musically-rich family where his grandfather and father were music directors who introduced him early to rhythm, melody and compositions.
His voice earned him widespread recognition when he won season 2 of Tarang TV’s ‘Voice of Odisha’. He made his debut as a playback singer in “Ishq Tu Hi Tu’, which became a hit, catapulting him to limelight and firmly cementing his status as one of the leading voices in Odia entertainment industry. Over the years, he lent his voice to over 150 film songs and around 200 album tracks.
Following completion of paper works and formalities at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, the singer’s mortal remains were taken to Cuttack where he lived. A large number of friends, fans, and members of film and music fraternity turned up to pay their last respect.
Later, the hearse carrying the singer’s body departed for his ancestral village Deng in Titilagarh where the last rites were performed.
He will be remembered for ever for his songs like ‘Khub Mane Padu Tu’, ‘Jhipi Jhipi Meghare’, ‘Nishwasa To Bina Chalena’, ‘Sehzadi O Sehzadi’, ‘Mu Pardesi Chadhei’, ‘Gote Sua Gote Saari’, ‘Sunn Zara’, ‘Pyar Bala Hichki’ and ‘Tu Mo Love Story’.
