Bhubaneswar: Senior theatre, serial and film artiste Soudamini Pati passed away at her VSS Nagar residence January 16. She was 70.
Family sources said cardiac arrest caused her death.
She started her acting career at a very young age after her father’s untimely death. She was at the peak of her career between 1963 and 70 when she was associated with Janata Rangmanch. She was a lifetime member of ‘Manana’, a Bhubaneswar based theatre organisation.
In her career spanning over five decades, she acted in many plays, serials and films. She was awarded and felicitated by several government and private organisations including Sangeet Natak Akademi, Canmass, Manana, Satabdira Kalakar, Panchamveda, to name a few.
Expressing their deep condolences, senior actors, actresses, theatre artistes, Odisha Natya Sangha observed her death as a great loss.
