Bhubaneswar: The two-day-long Sanrachana Utsav 2024 concluded at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
The festival was organised by Soor Mandir, a Cuttack based Odissi dance institution.
The esteemed guests of the concluding evening were Guru (Dr.) Aruna Mohanty, Eminent Odissi Dancer and Choreographer; Smt. Anju Ranjan, DDG, ICCR, Government of India; Guru Dhaneswar Swain, Noted Mardala Player and Guru (Dr.) Jyotsna Sahoo, Founder, Soor Mandir, Cuttack.
The evening’s first presentation was a Group Odissi dance by the students of Soor Mandir, Cuttack led by Guru Dr. Jyotsna Sahoo. They presented an Abhinaya Gajanana.Their next item was an Abhinaya Pacharile Radhikaku. The following item was Sangeeta. Soor Mandir’s last item was Agni, music composed by Guru Swapenswar Chakraborty and rhythm composed by Guru Bijay Barik. All the dance items were choreographed by Guru Dr. Jyotsna Sahoo.
Next presentation of the evening was another group Odissi dance by the artistes of Nrutyapuri led by Guru Muktilata Pal. They presented Madanamohana Asthakam.
The dancers of Soor Mandir and Nrutyapuri were marked by fluid grace, immaculate body movements with amazing precision and charming gestures and postures during the dance which was appreciated by audiences presented in the auditorium.
During the festival, while Padma Shri recipient Guru Aruna Mohanty and young Odissi dancer Pankaj Kumar Pradhan were felicitated on the first evening, eminent Odissi dancer Guru Muktilata Pal was felicitated on the second evening.
The festival was conducted by Dr. Jyotsna Sahoo, th founder of Soor Mandir and was compered by Dr. Er. Srinibasa Ghatuari.
