Bhubaneswar: The 9th edition of ‘Sajare Sajare Rajo’, organised by Survibration Charitable Trust, was held at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar on June 12.
After the customary lighting the lamp ceremony attended by guests like Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s Mayor Sulochana Das, former director of Film Sensor Board Gopal Krushna Mohapatra and artist and writer Chandrabhanu Kar, a two-minute silence observed in the memory of departed soul of devotional singer Shantilata Barik.
Thereafter, some noted personalities were felicitated.
The cultural evening witnessed some scintillating performances.
All attempts were taken to give people visiting Rabindra Mandap a feel of Rajo festival. While the artists wore traditional attires, there were swings on the stage and outside the venue, huts with flower creepers and wheels of bullock cart were set up.
Noted singer Dr Jayashree Dhal, who is the chairperson of Survibration Charitable Trust, enthralled audience by singing songs filled with the fragrance of Rajo festival.
