Bhubaneswar: The five-day-long theatre festival on legendary personalities of Odisha started at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

After the customary lighting the lamp ceremony, the play ‘E Jatira Senapati’, based on Fakir Mohan Senapati, was staged by Newquest Repertory, a Rourkela based theatre organization established by Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee Nalini Nihar Nayak.
While the play was written by Prof Bijay Kumar Satapathy, it was directed by Nalini Nihar Nayak.

The play gave the audience, specifically the young generation, an opportunity to know Byasa Kabi Fakir Mohan Senapati, who was a writer, philosopher and social reformer.

The two-hour-long play left the audience hooked to their seats.

The Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi in association with the Odia Language, Literature and Culture department organised the festival.
