Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s top entertainment channel Zee Sarthak is once again pulling out all the stops to keep its loyal audience entertained.
The channel, known for its emotionally resonant serials and culturally-rooted films, is all set to premiere a special Savitri Brata-themed telefilm titled ‘Satyabanara Swargajatra’ this Sunday, May 25 at 6:30 PM.
A perfect blend of comedy and drama, the film puts a quirky spin on the age-old tale of Savitri and Satyaban.
Married for five years, the bickering couple seems to have made squabbling a daily ritual.
Things take a turn when Savitri, determined to prove her mettle, signs up for a reality show named ‘Savitri Number-1’. Roped into helping her, Satyaban soon finds himself neck-deep in her endless list of demands.
Exhausted and exasperated, he begins to believe that death might be a welcome escape from his earthly woes.
But just when he’s at his wit’s end, fate plays its card—Yama’s messengers arrive and whisk Satyaban’s soul away to Yamaloka, the land of the dead. From that point on, the story takes a fantastical turn, packed with laugh-out-loud moments and poignant realizations.
Will Savitri rise to the occasion and bring Satyaban back? Or is this the end of the road for the hapless husband? All will be revealed in the film’s gripping finale.
Produced by Khirod Pattnayak and helmed by director Ajay Rath, ‘Satyabanara Swargajatra’ stars Srijit and Ananya in the lead roles. The film’s music, composed by Prashant Padhi, features vocals by Bishnu Mohan Kabi, Arpita Choudhury, and Padhi himself.
The lyrical magic has been penned by Nirmal Nayak, while the story is the brainchild of Priyabrata Panda and Manas Mallik.
Zee Sarthak’s Chief Channel Officer Prateek Seal expressed confidence in the film’s appeal, especially among women viewers, and urged the audience to tune in and show their love. “This story captures the essence of devotion and adds a humorous twist that is bound to strike a chord,” he said.
With its fresh take on a timeless tale, ‘Satyabanara Swargajatra’ promises a rollercoaster ride of emotions, laughter, and heartwarming moments—just the kind of entertainment Sunday evenings were made for.
