Two-day tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee concludes in Bhubaneswar; ‘Rashtra Purush Atal’ staged

Bhubaneswar: The two-day-long celebration of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 100th birth anniversary, organized by Nrutyadham in association with Ministry of Culture Government of India, concluded at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

The two-day event brought together a diverse audience, including dignitaries, artists, intellectuals, and the public, to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of the beloved leader.

The concluding evening was inaugurated by Minister of Housing & Urban Development Krushna Chandra Mohapatra.

The spotlight of the evening was the conferment of the ‘Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji Award’. Former Governor of Andhra Pradesh Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Padma Shri awardee Odissi dancer Guru Durga Charan Ranbir, CSNA awardee Odissi exponent Guru Dr Snehaprava Samantaray and BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan were honoured with the prestigious award.

Later, a play titled ‘Rashtra Purush Atal’, written by Biswanath Pati and directed by Dhira Mallick of Satabdira Kalakar’, a Bhubaneswar-based theatre group, was staged, transporting the theatre lovers through the remarkable journey of the former Prime Minister.
