THESPIAN THEATRE PERSONALITY KASHINATH SAHOO PASSES AWAY AT 103

BHUBANESWAR: Kashinath Sahoo, noted theatre exponent, dramatist, playwright and a Gandhian died at Pipili Wednesday. He was 108.

He died at his residence at Pipili in Puri district. Family sources said he was active till Tuesday.
Born on September 7, 1913, Kashinath was the youngest among eight siblings born to Bandhu Sahu and Radhamani of Haripur village near Pipili.

He was one of the founders of Annapurna Theatre Group. Besides this, he was also associated with theatre groups like Banamali Theatre, Rasa Party of Haribandhu Sundara and Minarava Theatre in Kolkata (then Calcutta). He staged more than 100 plays in his life time.

Theatre personalities of the state termed his death as a great loss to the Odisha theatre world.
