Delhi: Anushua Chowdhury’s solo Odissi presentation at Nritya Fest 2024, organised by Nrityalaya at Triveni Kala Sangam, Mandi House, Delhi, stood out for her flawless body movements and nuanced expressions.
Trained under Guru Priyambada Pattanaik, Anushua is currently honing her dancing skills under the watchful eyes of Guru Kavita Dwibedi. A Delhi based dancer, she is best known for her dedication to Odissi dance. She has honed her craft over 15 years.
A scholarship holder from Sahitya Kala Parishad, govt. of Delhi and “B High Graded” artiste of Doordarshan Kendra, New Delhi. She is also empaneled with SPIC MACAY, reflecting her deep commitment to promoting Indian classical arts.Anushua’s versatility shines in her lead roles in productions by Shriram Bhartiya Kala Kendra, as well as in solo performances at prestigious festivals such as the International Odissi Dance Festival (Bhubaneswar), Delhi Odissi Utsav, and IIC Spring Festival.
Pursuing a Master’s in Performing Arts from the World University of Design, she continues to enrich her artistic journey, blending tradition with innovation.
The host institution felicitated her with Nritya Fest Samman.
With her presentation, she instantly struck a chord with the art connoisseurs.She commenced her presentation with Shankarabharana Pallavi, set to Raga Shankarabharana and Tala Ektali, choreographed by legendary Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra and music composed by Pandit Bhubaneswar Mishra.
While she was performing, it seemed the sculptures on the walls of Sun Temple at Konark coming alive on the stage. Her presentation was a treat for both trained and untrained eyes.
