Ananta’s screenplay book launched after box office triumph

Bhubaneswar: After making a splash, Odia film Ananta’s screenplay and dialogues of the film has now been released in book form, giving fans a chance to relive the magic off-screen.

The launch event, held at Maharaja Cinema Hall, saw the presence of director Sabyasachi Mohapatra, actor Sabyasachi Mishra, dialogue writer Dr. Rajani Ranjan, actress Jyotirmayee Panda, and several noted poets and writers from the city’s literary circles.

The book has been published by Pakshighara Publications.Based on the timeless story Randi Pua Ananta by legendary Odia writer Fakir Mohan Senapati, Ananta has struck a chord with audiences, continuing to run houseful even three weeks post-release.

The film has been directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra and Kumar C. Dev, with dialogues penned by Dr. Rajani Ranjan.

Speaking at the event, director Mohapatra highlighted that the book aims to reach those who could not catch the film in theatres, allowing them to experience the narrative as vividly as if they were watching it unfold on screen.

With stellar performances across the board, Ananta has left viewers deeply moved by its portrayal of stories rooted in the soil of Odisha, celebrating the sacrifices and resilience of sons of the villages.

The film’s success has also underscored the growing appetite among audiences for original, heartfelt stories.

The launch event was graced by several literary and cultural figures, including author Professor Sanghamitra Mishra, Dr. Sushama Mishra, writer Prabeena Mahanti, Odisha Mirror editor Dillip Bishwal, fiction writer Arun Sahoo, Kshiroda Parida, Paresh Pattnayak, Sahadeb Sahoo, Kshiroda Das, Babita Tripathy, and Pakshighara editor Banoja Tripathy.

With Ananta now available in print, fans can carry a piece of its cinematic journey with them, experiencing the dialogues and moments that have already become a part of contemporary Odia cultural memory.

In the film, Sabyasachi Mishra is in the titular character ‘Ananta’, with Suryamayee, Kuna Tripathy, Jyotirmayee Panda, and Tapas Sargharia sharing the screen space.
