Shradhanjali Samaroha-24: Guru Debaprasad Das remembered

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of the 38th death anniversary of Guru Debaprasad Das, the 38th Sradhanjali Samaroha-2024, organised by Tridhara in collaboration with Health On Top, was inaugurated at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

A total of more than 800 artists and more than 75 institutions are participating in this two-day festival. The main objective of organizing this festival is to pay homage to Guruji by performing Odissi dances in Guruji’s dance style by various institutions and dancers of Odisha on the death anniversary of Guru Debaprasad Das.

At 9 o’clock in the morning, the esteemed gurus, distinguished guests, disciples and well-wishers garlanded the statue of Guru Debaprasad Das in the premises of Utkal Sangita Mahavidyalaya.

In the afternoon inaugural session, Odissi dance items were performed by National Cultural Kala Pratisthan, Cuttack; Utkalika Sangeet Academy, Nirakarpur; Pranam, Boudh; Sree Sai Dance Academy, Nirakarpur; Swara Jhankar, Bolangir; Odissi Sadhana Pitha, Brahmapur; Lokanath Sangeet Kala Niketan, Bhubaneswar Sagarika Kala Nikektan, Paradeep; Odissi Nrutyayana, Bramhapur; Swayamshree Nrutya Anusthan, Talcher; Nrutyaprava Dance Academy, Jatani; Nirjhara Cultural Academy, Bhubaneswar; Om Kalinga Kala Parishad, Bhubaneswar; Srimayee Nrutya Anusthan, Bhubaneswar; Nrutyalaya, Phulbani and Nrutyarchana, Bhubaneswar.

The evening programme started with lighting of the lamp by esteemed guests Shri Raghubar Das, His Excellency Governor of Odisha; Shri Dilip Routrai, Director, Odia Language, Literature and Culture; Dr. Gaurav Ralhan, Chairman, Swarna Samaroha Committee, Tridhara; Shri Simanchala Panda, Working President, Tridhara and Guru Dr. Gajendra Panda, Director, Tridhara.

Before commencement of the evening cultural programme, the esteemed Gurus and senior artistes participated in the Sradhanjali Samaroha-2024 were felicitated by His Excellency Governor of Odisha by presenting them Guru Debaprasad Nrutya Ratna-2024.

In the evening session, cultural programmes were performed by Tridhara, Bhubaneswar; Ms. Bagmishree Das, Grand Daughter of Guru Debaprasad Das; Nrutyankita, Angul; Nrutya Prativa, Bhubaneswar; Rawa Dance Academy, Bhubaneswar; Lingaraj Kala Niketan, Puri; Benunada Kala Kendra, Vrindaban; Biswannath Sangeetalaya, Cuttack; Nrutyashree, Karanjia and Shree Jagannath Odissi Kala Kendra, Parala Khemundi.

The program was coordinated by Guru Dr. Gajendra Kumar Panda, Director, Tridhara and anchored the program by Dr. Srinivas Ghatuari.
