Bhubaneswar: ‘Warrior’s War Within’, a silent and short film produced and directed by Gajendra Kumar Padhi, has won three international awards.

Minus COVID-19 warriors, we cannot even think of conquering the war against the pandemic.
But have we ever tried to understand what difficulties they are experiencing.
Gajendra Kumar Padhi, who is presently working as a senior lecturer in B K College of Art and Crafts, Bhubaneswar, made a sincere attempt to shed light on the life of nurses who are attending COVID-19 patients through his film.

He without using a single word narrates beautifully how a nurse has to sacrifice her family life on the altar of duty. She has a breastfeeding baby back at home. At times, she feels she would run to her child and spend some time with her, clinging her close to her chest. But she can’t for the fear of her baby contracting the virus.

Gayatri Rath seems to have not left any stone unturned in giving justice to her character as a nurse.

Excellent direction and brilliant acting has earned the film three awards at film festivals in US, Bhutan and Singapore.
Padhi says his film of 12 minutes and 22 seconds duration has also been selected for screening at Golden Bridge Istanbul Short Film Festival and Anatolia International Film Festival.

He says he shot the film in short spell of time, following all the COVID-19 guidelines.
The film was edited and music composed by Ambikesh Kunnal Hota, cinematography and light by Gagan Kumar Rout. Jaminikanta Das and Ankit Padhi were the associate director and executive producer respectively.

Padhi says he has dedicated the awards to the people of Odisha.
